This thread just shows a LOAD of hearsay.

Nikon said that the d800 and d4 share the same AF, period. They are newer systems, better than the previous, so all this "oh my d700 was better" is rubbish.

Personally speaking, my d800 focuses accurately at ISO6400, f1.4 and 1/20s conditions without the assist light with no problem at all.
