What would be a good lens for my a57 to take indoor "people" shots?

Re: What would be a good lens for my a57 to take indoor "people" shots?

On my A55, I use the SAL50F18, and I have been very pleased with the results.

Taken indoors in a darkish room, with natural light from a window 5 feet away (in winter)

Also indoors, light from small transom over door

I chose this lens over the 35 because:

- I wanted something closer to equivalent portrait length on an FF,

- The people I wanted to shoot were the grandchildren, and a longer lens means less in their face

- because I was getting the 18-55 zoom as part of the deal for the A55 (at that time, Amazon didn't have a body only option on it).

It's good outdoors as well.
