Please help a noob! (First camera shopping)

Don't start with an arbitrary budget.  That's how to pick "the wrong one."  Set your budget over one year to $5,000.  Then start looking at cameras.

If video is your main priority, don't buy a dSLR, especially if you have no prior experience.  You will likely be very disappointed.  The Canon 650D looks good, as does the 5D Mark III, but they still aren't camcorders.  If you want a camcorder, buy a camcorder.
