Exactly, this is the point of it all. It's not that any of us need iso 800k all the time, but to have it with low noise when I DO need it is priceless. If I don't, no problem, nobody is forcing me to turn my dial further. Same thing with the new FF options. The D600 and 6D max SS is only 1/4000, and many dismiss it as not needing the 1/8000 usually in FF. I have 1/8000 in my K5, and while I don't often use it, it's nice when I want it. If you shoot at 800iso and under, 1/2000 and slower, JPEG only ect, you may as well buy a P&S. For the rest of us, more is better.
