Canon USA's Method

Every time I go to a Canon sales demo, their technicians always use Kim-Wipes (lint free tissues) and denatured alcohol. One or two drops on the Kim-Wipe and using a circular motion wipe from the inside out. Do NOT attempt to clean the rear lens element unless you are using a Kim-Wipe and NO alcohol solution.

When I am at the office we use an air compressor that is moisture free. We hold the air gun about 12 inches from the elements and give short bursts of air to remove lint.
