What should I expect from 24-105?
I just got a 6D kit with the 24-105. Very amazing camera. And I like the lens too. I've been doing a lot of the usual tests - AMFA calibration and the flat surface tests. My 24-105 is very sharp (especially in the center) and the corners seem very good too. I mostly tested at f4.
My only concern is that at 105mm the corners are kind-of softer than at wider focal lengths. They seem consistent with one another and are not too bad. At f 5.6 they are better.
I would appreciate any input from others who are very familiar with the 24-105. What should be my expectations be with this lens? - especially relating to corner sharpness. I want to make sure I have a "good" copy (I know this phrase is overused). I'm coming from a 17-55 on a Rebel Xti. (wonderful lens). Thank you!
