My point is, at base ISO, cross-system cameras will be if not identical then very close. That's certainly the case for DX vs FX

In fact, the D2x is ​better ​than the D3 at base ISO - don't take my word for it (I haven't pixel-peeped the two), but Thom Hogan suggests so, and I think he's a serious photographer.

I agree with the comment that says "comparable" and I don't take it to mean that it's "better."  I have a point-and-shoot, 12MP Kodak that shoots ISO64 (under auto-ISO option) especially on bright landscape shots.  Its output is as clean and as vivid as my DSLR.  Details are not as great though.

And yes I better worry about photography, indeed.
