Hi folks, hope you're all good.....
Right, my EOS 400D has given up the ghost (about time the old dinosaur kicked the bucket).
I have just ordered a Canon 7D. YEEEEHAH!! Excited I am!!!!
The lenses I currently own are the Canon 50mm 1.4 and the 70-200 f4L. Obviously the cropped sensor is a problem.

Oh, and also, I would rather stay away from EF-S lenses because I know at some point I will go full-frame.

I really need something wider, and also very good and very sharp (expensive is cool) - anything around 10-20mm is great. It dosen't need to be a prime lens, but I do want a constant/fixed aperture.

I like street photography, documentary and landscapes (sometimes). Wide apertures is pretty important.
Thanks for the help and I'll appreciate any feedback/advice.

I agree with the other posters, don't ignore EF-S because you think you may buy a full frame model sometime in the future.   The 17-40 is good on a crop, just not as good as some other "wide" lens specifically designed for crop models
