Re: Why I switched to an OM-D

Each to their own.

I have never owned a DSLR - I went "prosumer" P&S to m4/3 directly. Perhaps I missed out?

In my film days i had an Oly u2 2.8 which produced beautful picture and was so small I could put it in my pocket.

I felt deprived and got myself a Pentax film SLR with all the bells and whistles. But when the novelty wore off the SLR got left on the shelf and the u2 returned to my pocket.

The reason is obvious: size and weight. The Pentax used to give me neck ache!

I went EPL1 > EP2 > OMD

Recently I bought myself an Oly OM2n and love that. Light, small and very competent. Love it too.

I still feel envious about full frame camera owners as a little bit of my brain keeps saying "their camera is better than yours" ... but when I pick one up I realise I had made the right choice ... for me.
