That statement was made under the context that price was the only reason a f/1.4 prime wasn't used.

Context is always important, much like how my whole reply wasn't against the existence of ISO6400 per se, but this alleged ´╗┐need´╗┐ for even superior performance at such settings---if you cared for technical excellence to that extent, there's faster and more pragmatic ways of achieving it than complaining in an online forum about how Sony or Canon needs to improve their sensors because their current ones are "trash". If your viewpoint is "I'm happy ISO6400 exists" rather than "noise is unacceptable at these settings" then my reply should be utterly irrelevant to you, though I suspect some of you will still find reason to be offended in any case.
