Re: is the nx1000 getting a successor this year?

Samsung do very few accessories for any of their cameras. It is probably the reason for their success in that they are in the box it, ship it, sell it and then forget about it market. Very lucrative but little time is wasted on after sales support and they are good at finding the right markets to sell into.

They are having a go with NX but it is not really in their DNA to distribute extras to bolt on to something they have already sold. I know this from trying to find the charger they illustrated in the WB5500 catalogue which just never had or never would exist as far as I could find. The fact there was no part number was a clue to this. I do like to buy the proper chargers as every third party charger I have seen drops the central thermistor detect pin which I do think makes life just a little safer. Presumably it is there for a reason.

Probably providing customer service is the big mistake the established Japanese manufacturers are making as the our economy is very much geared to disposable goods. Waste is profit.

I still can`t see why Sammy dropped the EVF port - Rather senseless as they even have an EVF on the market for the NX100 (and an EVF isn`t going to kill sales of the SLR shap models, ask Panasonic) - Japanese camera companies are the most illogical of beasts (witness Canon, Nikon & Fuji wonderous blunders over the years) - looks like the disease has spread to Korea
