I use view nx2 to import raw images. And when I click the RAW button in the top left pane in view nx2 yellow dots start appearing right below it and after a few seconds the image changes slightly, usually becomes more dull. As I understand it what I was seeing before was the JPEG preview embedded in the RAW file, and what I see after pressing the RAW button is the RAW data. But what you are saying is that it is still a JPEG image, just processed using the presets of view nx2, right? So, essentially, i could shoot the same image in JPEG format in-camera, and that image would be no different than a raw file in view nx2. The only difference would be that it was processed according to the camera's defaults, rather than view nx2.
