I'm thinking of buying an X100, just for fun. Won't get rid of my m4/3 gear (GH3 with lenses), but thought the X100 would make a fine camera for walkaround photography. Then I read all the neat features of the soon to be released X100s.

For my purposes, that is, just general walkaround photography, would the new features (such as new finder and Xtrans sensor) of the X100s be worth waiting for (and spending more)?

While the same body, the X100 and X100s will produce quite different IQ just based on the sensor change.  You can look over the X100's IQ all over the net.  The X100s is just starting to show samples but I think it is safe to look at X-E1 and X Pro 1 shots as well, understanding that the lens difference exists.

All depends on what you want IQ wise.  Each camera will have a significantly different visual signature to it.
