To bring that old issue up again is pointless: people will always have their own preferences, will have their own particular needs, sometimes they are only motivated by what others think, will do what others do. Consider that there are people who still prefer to shoot on 35 mm film (!).

So nothing is accomplished by attempting to settle such an argument, to search for the ultimate "truth". Let us be happy that technology offers such a variety of applications for us to chose from. Use whatever fits your particular needs, do not take the opinion of others too important, use your own solid reasoning - and not emotions - before you buy. And be not offended if you think your equipment does not follow "main stream philosophy", what ever that might be: get shooting instead !

(and, most of all, if we talk about things, let's avoid words like "ridiculous" in our discussions).
