Absolutely. I got a replacement split prism focus screen for around $20 on eBay for my Sony dslr. My camera is a bit older, so your pricing may vary. This might be a good time to experiment with something similar, if you're interested.

If you do buy one, be very, very, very and about not touching it or letting anything touch it. The slightest spec of dust or lint will be very visible, and almost impossible to clean off. Aside from this, swapping it out was pretty easy.

One more tip - if Canon is like Sony, place the camera upside down (not on back but on hot shoe) for the procedure. This will prevent everything from falling out.
