Re: SX130 IS & Color IR- Filter use

Have just tested outside but streetshot only, very few vegetation. its promising. used kodak wratten 88a and 87c. 87c is absorbing more, maybe cuts contrast too. must do further tests. BUT: forget colorsetting. its quite unsharp. USE b+w only. Not perfect but impressively sharp.

i was using powerstrip(soft but strong) to attach filter, be aware when removing gelatine filter. it could be ripped of. i think they have a weaker version. I have a sample here and will retry with it.

400 asa in bright sunlight, start with 10 sec /5.6 as a beginning. in some weeks vegetation will restart. with chdk we can use longer exposure times than 15 sec.

I have also glass-filter ir and IS(Infraschwarz=Infrablack). Will test with them later. didnt want to drop them from the balcony-wall. they are 58mm and quite heavy. Must search for a filterholder. nothing canon is offering, right? no tube like for a590is?

Correction: Sorry i was mistaken. Since wheather changed rapidly during test i had to set iso 400.

In bright sunlight i have set:

b+w, iso 80. 10sec/8 88A Kodak gelatin IR-filter  730 nm and upwards.

Very fine details, wonderful contrast

Must repeat color-shots, it looks quite monochrome, maybe i didnt use tripod, only cam sitting on a wall resulting in not perfect sharpness.
