Shooting with the X-E1, XF14, XF18, and XF18-55
10

Hello everyone! Just sharing some shots I took with the X-E1 and the new XF14/2.8, XF18-55 and XF18/2. I've only had the X-E1 for a little bit over 2 weeks along with the XF18-55 and XF18  which I was able to test out in a recent trip to Hong Kong.

The Tsing Ma Bridge in Ma Wan Island, Hong Kong with the XF18-55

A foggy view of Central Hong Kong Island, the harbour and Kowloon behind it from Victoria Peak with the XF18-55

The optical image stabilization of the XF18-55 is just awesome.

I didn't really get to test out the XF18/2 until I got home.

Long exposures are surprisingly clean even without Long Exposure Noise Reduction

And about a week ago, Fujifilm Philippines was able to lend me the XF14mm f/2.8 R. Finally a wider lens!

I was lucky the low tide was the same time on both sunrise and sunset on this particular island that day!

The details captured by the X-Trans sensor and the sharpness of the XF14 is impeccable!

Especially with Capture One Pro 7.0.2.

241 shots at 30s each (2 hours) stacked in Photoshop. At ISO3200!

The dynamic range and latitude for shadow recovery of the X-Trans sensors are just amazing!

I did not do any layer blending for any of these landscape shots. All exposure edits were done in either ACR 7.3 or Capture One 7.0.2 with the shadow and highlight sliders.

Long story short, I bought a Nikon D600 +16-35G a few days before Fujifilm lent me the X-E1. In the past 2 weeks I have barely even touched the D600 or considered using it over the X-E1. Tomorrow I'm going for a climb to shoot landscapes again and I'm leaving the D600 at home.
