I'm waiting on posts for that....

But, in the meantime, for now we get nothing but reports about how unsatisfactory many of the old lenses are on the SD1 and SD1M. Because they are soft. If there is a point to that, it would be that people do not buy the SD1M to get soft, smooth images with no aliasing. The prior lenses worked well enough on earlier cameras, but...

This is beginning to strike me as a classic trade-off, in terms of information. You can get all the information, if you are willing to put up with the distortion/interference caused by the higher frequency information, or you can get less, and have...less. The solution to aliasing on a sensor at this stage, and possibly for a long time, is imperfect and destructive.
