I agree with the poster who wrote about staying with the known brands.

One that he mentioned which is outstanding but presently undervalued is Minolta.

Minolta SR mount includes MC and the newer MD lenses, for the most part.


Some of the 50's are missing from this compilation. I own about 6 of these Minolta Rokkors and my favorite for m43 is the very small 45mm f2 pancake. Most users like the fast 50's and 55's, f1.2 and f1.4. But although my current favorite is the MD 50mm f2, I'm searching for the MC version of that lens, which should be about $20. Because rumor has it that it is identical to the Leica Summicron 50/f2...let's keep that a secret...worth about $1600 on eBay! Actually there were about 2 or 3 lenses that were shared with Leica.

As for your choices, I'd go for the 2 Vivitar Series 1 lenses because they are probably made by Komine, arguably the best lens makers out of Japan. Just make sure the serial # begins with 28xxxx.
