Indoor shots are just harder to get right due to the unpredictable types of CFL lighting on the market now. It would be impossible for a camera manufacturer to predict what CFL bulbs you are using in your house, the temperature of the bulbs, the color spectrum of the bulbs, and how close your subject is to the bulbs when you take your shot. All of these issues will affect the WB.

Have you tried the custom WB setting on the LX7 using a white card? I find that gets me close enough, and usually a quick auto WB tuning in PP does the trick if I really want to look closely.
