I enjoy the variety that taking photos grants me. There's a lot of places I've been to since getting the photography bug that I probably wouldn't have visited if it weren't for the promise of some interesting images.

Post-processing also excites me. The RAW file as it stands is potential - everything you do to it from that moment onwards is your interpretation of the scene you saw. Maybe you saw more in it than the basic image? Pulling detail out of those dark areas, pushing some of those highlights down, tweaking saturation and gradients. All potential.
