Last season we did a snow Wedding.

I shoot Nikon (various models) and my co-shooters use the 5D2 cameras. We were outdoors for the best part of the day under heavy snowfall. None of us were taking an special care or trying to cover up our gear. Basically just shooting away.

So under the same conditions my D700 rear viewfinder became completely fogged up on the inside. I tried wiping it but it did not help. Both 5D2's were fine in every respect.

I took the D700 indoors for the night and by the next morning it was fine.

All that said, I still prefer to D700 for many other reasons

Have you gotten your camera checked for cracks or leaks in the seals? I've traipsed around all over the alps hiking and skiing in the dead of winter in sub-zero temperatures with the D700 slung across my shoulder for days at time without this ever happening to me.

What you know imprisons you

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been on here for a while.

That's interesting feedback. I haven't had mine checked but I will now that you have given me this information. I did find it strange that I had this issue when the 5D's didn't.

It's not a huge problem for me as 95% of my shooting is in good weather. That being said, it is still worth checking out.
