Pop Photo is now an authority on resolution?

Interestingly the Popular Photography review of the Monochrom (in the Feb 2013 print issue probably not available on the web for a few months) states the resolution test result as 2800 lines per picture height, or about 67% of the actual pixel count for the sensor.

Haven't we discussed how Pop Photo counts resolution enough times in this forum?

Nope, the Merrill beats it in resolution. DP2M resolution measured 94% of the pixel count!

Nope. According to Pop Photo, the DP2M has the same resolution as a 15 MP Bayer so the Monochrom would still be higher.

You cannot mix and match resolution numbers from different sites.  You know the drill, e.g. RAW vs. OOC JPEG and  extinction resolution vs. where aliasing starts.
