Chasing something better
Chasing something better

There is certainly truth in the comment ‘the best camera is the one you have with you’. Before Christmas I decided that the noise levels of my NX10 were too high and went out and bought a K-30 because of its sensor performance. The NX10 is OK in good light but it doesn’t like it when you push it in post processing. The K-30 on the other hand is noticeably better when it comes to noise.
The problem is the Tamron 17-50mm lens I bought with it has been a bit of a problem, to the point that nearly four months on and I haven’t got a saleable print from it. At the moment it is in Germany being tested after the UK Company couldn’t find anything wrong with it but agreed the images didn’t look right. They also asked if they could have the camera to test with it, so I can’t even use it with another lens. In fairness to Tamron they have been very helpful.
So I’m back to taking pictures with my trusted NX10 and 30mm and trying to find a prime in K mount that is sharp from edge to edge without selling a kidney (the cheap 35mm is just a bit too wide for my needs). Anyway here are some shots from the camera I’m trying to replace.
