Re: E-M5 fun and frustration at the same time

I see we understand each other. But the 9-18 has some drawbacks for me too.

- simply not wide enough
- aperture 5.6 at the long end is nearly useless on mft for my street shooting (4.0 nearly alteady is) - I really love to go street shooting with an ultrawide and not to have to switch lenses
- having to stop down to 5.6 or 8 for optimum quality does not go well with the dark places I snap very often
- build quality again; I already have to bear the 45mm but to shell out 500 Euro for another plastic phantasic - that really hurts

But I fully see your point. At least when it captures an image you can be sure it is usable plus it has the advantage of smaller size.

Guess I will wait for the Fuji ultrawide zoom and the next iteration of their e-x1 before I make up my mind.

Even thought about combining a Samyang 7.5 fisheye with the panasonic 12-35 for my needs. Maybe I should follow that thought a little bit. Doesn't cost a thing more as my 7-14, 20, 45 right now.
