There are some terrific fast 50s, no doubt. In fact, I'd not worry about sharpness as the end all for a 50 on a NEX since you aren't going to be shooting landscape. Instead, I'd look at the 50 that provides the best bokeh and microcontrast or the best color rendering or whatever a person prefers besides sharpness and go for that 50.
