I saw something a while back by Lenstip where they tested CPLs. One of them turned out to be a mislabeled linear polarizer and they initially suspected it because of it's outstanding performance (as a polarizer).

From this I am inferring that linear polarizers perform better than CPLs.

For MFT either will work but maybe the linear polarizers work better as polarizers? Has anyone tried?

i've used a B+W linear polariser with the 14mm/2.5 and it works beautifully
