Exposure control in a raw developer: misnomer?

Here is is mentioned that "exposue: -1, Contrast: -50, slight S curve (bottom of page) gives the correct output.

I don't use Adobe (SilkyPix Developer Pro 4 and Raw Therapee) so I can't check it.

At least with RT you can look at its source code to see how its "Exposure Compensation" control operates.
