I'm pretty sure I've seen the term "ISO sensitivity" thrown around. I think using "sensitivity" as a key word portrays the function best. You can combine it with "exposure", "ISO", "brightness", "light", any one will do.

My vote is still for "Scalar Badness". It has the proper air of mystery and spacey-tinkles about it ...

...why they aren't all jumping on your suggestion -- it's just the term needed, and especially fits in well with those that need big cameras to substitute for, well, that's another story.

On the other hand, perhaps they're reading too quickly. Maybe they think you suggested "Specular Baldness" which, when you get right down to it, is downright offensive to many posting here.

"Scalar Badness", as in "Royal Badness". A sexy term from math/physics coupled with a visceral, macho qualifier equals profits ... and you have "the Adobe control-slider formerly known as Prissiness" ...
