If everyone thought as I do, Epson (etc) would sell a lot more pro printers ....

Best regards, John. Speaking of Epson printers, what do you think/know about the R1800. Turns out that is the printer in the corner of my basement. You piqued my interest in trying out printing again. I don't even know if the starter inks are still OK, in the box! Hope there is Windows 7 support.

Good for you, mate

A number of people I know have this printer, and I have read a bit about it from people on DPR, all reports being good. Main thing to watch is print head clogging. This is easily avoided by printing photos with it once a week ...
The Epsons from the Rx880 series onwards do not have this problem.

I think it is an A3+ printer, so optimised for the 3:2 aspect ratio of most dSLRs (only Olympus 4/3rds are 4:3).

Details from Epson are here:

It does have drivers for Vista, and these will should work with W7 (Vista is NT v6.0; W7 is v6.1 ... ). Just checked. W7 is supported. Go to the driver page here:
This page should automatically detect your OS. If not, select it from the drop down list.

Very important: Shake each ink cartridge very well (for at least 30-60 seconds each) before installing them in the printer for the first time. I also repeat this if I haven't used my R3880 for a long time.

All the best with your endeavours mate.
