Re: DO YOU STILL PRINT PICTURES?

My perspective in this reply is not professional but serious amateur. At first I always printed, in my own darkroom. I felt personally connected to a process and enjoyed the tactile and visual results. Through the years my wife and I gave many prints to family and friends as gifts. We still do photo cards and people comment on them very positively. When I transitioned to inkjet printing from digital files something seemed lost. Maybe I never calibrated my monitor well enough. Inkjet prints also seemed expensive. It was easy to spend lots of money monthly on ink, much of it squirted away into a pad inside the printer. Now I don't print as much. But I have a very good 27" monitor on my new iMac. In a sense the joy of process and viewing results has returned.
