Looks like some new sheriffs will be needed then. The problem with the second amendment is that it's open to interpretation. It's so vague you can easily argue that the public should be allowed to own anything they want, so sidewinders, electric miniguns etc. Or, you could say no, that is not reasonable (as is the case, as those weapons are not for general use), and the right to bear arms can be limited by subsequent laws or executive order. This is what has happened, and has been accepted by the US, including these sheriffs, so it's a bit disingenuous to now claim they are going to ignore the very same process they have been quite happy to enforce up until now.

As someone already pointed out, they are there to enforce the law, not interpret it. They don't have a leg to stand on.

I loved the statement "Our founding fathers got it right and many politicians are getting it wrong." I don't think the founding fathers envisaged the mess this has now caused. What was right in 1776 is not necessarily right in 2013. If you take that view, let's bring back slavery.

Yes, and slavery and the 2nd amendment (slave patrol amendment) belong together as has been shown in other threads.

Right. Everyone throughout the world looks to the DPR off-topic forum for the truth. If it's been discussed here and if your side had more posts to that thread, you won!

Not exactly, but the dpr discussions exposes every line of thinking, some very kooky.
