I don't see much difference at 100% as far as noise goes.  Sharpness is a tad lower in the JPG which makes it look smoother.

I took some images in my home office with my ires/izoom on settings.  The settings with ires on, -2 SH, -1 NR look almost the same as the standard mode defaults of zero and no ires...maybe a tad less sharp than the defaults of all zero's and the noise level was maybe a little less with the ires on , -2 SH and -1 NR...for the most part they looked the same.

The blotchy images i took on that same trip to RI I was using scenery mode outside and standard mode indoors.  The scenery mode boosts sharpness and the blotchiness I think.

Now I have to check the default settings in different lighting to see if there is any difference.  Or does the Ires settings we like dynamically do a better job in different lighting?

This camera just keeps fooling me!
