Should I sell my last zoom and go all prime?

Re: Should I sell my last zoom and go all prime?

I am of the opinion that pro zooms are better than primes for all practical purposes. I do not need f1.4 and the loss of DOF makes focusing super critical or IQ visibly suffers. Fewer lens changes means less dust inside the camera and fewer missed shots.

Why would I carry around a 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 60mm, and 85mm set of primes instead of the 24-70mm f2.8 lens? What would I really gain in doing that?

I used primes for wedding photography when ISO 640 was the highest it was save to go with the D2x. Now ISO 3200 is viable and the f2.8 zooms work exceedingly well.

The only primes I use are a 16mm f2.8 fisheye, 60 and 105mm macro, and the 105mm f2 DC lens. For everything else I rely on zooms which cover from 14mm to 400mm with 4 lenses.
