when walking with a group, constantly on the move, there is no time to change lenses, and one has to cope with a wide range of momentary shooting opportunities. A superzoom is always going to have limited resolution at the ends of its focal length spectrum, but it is a valuable member of my lens collection. I still have a good set of specialist lenses for my more liesurely pursuits. And I have bought the Oly mFT14-150 for exactly the same purpose.

Very well said. The versatility of a super zoom cannot be beat when on the move.

The 18-180 always looked soft to me at the long end.
as I said in my original post, one does not want to be too didactic with these things, I'm sure there will be people who find a good use for it.
But I think most people who buy superzooms will be disappointed.
