Re: LX7 Setup Guide and Tips and Tricks Video

Just resolved an issue with another member's LX7. The LX7 has a 70 mb built-in memory. That is barely enough to store photos and it limits the camera to only taking standard definition video.

If your camera is displaying a little box with the letters "IN" inside that box on the left side of the screen then your camera is writing to the internal memory instead of the SD card. This will cause the camera to limit a lot of the functions like video resolution and picture type and size.

To resolve this issue you need to insert an SD card if one is not in the camera already. Then format the card in camera. If it fails to format the card then make sure the little write protection lock is not "ON" on the side of the memory card.

If the card is not locked and it won't format then it may be defective. In almost all cases the memory card is to blame for this issue and not the camera.

I wish camera manufactures would just stop including built in memory. It is not enough memory to make a difference and it just causes support issues.
