Gamma doesn't matter for color managed workflows

Then, I came across this article in Scientific American written by Jim Perkins and it not only fixed my problem but completely explained just why such color matching problems occur so frequently.

What Perkins says about Gamma is historical artifact and not applicable to color managed workflows. It makes no difference whether you profile a monitor to a gamma of 1.8 or 2.2 unless you are using the monitor in an unmanaged app like an internet browser that doesn't support ICC profiles.

Perkin's points about white point color temp and luminance are correct.
