Theoretically, yes, but the pixel size would then be 7.6um - just slightly less than the SD14, for what that's worth. Still, that would be 2-1/2 times the area of the Merrill pixel so possibly less noise. The well-respected Roger N Clark of ClarkVision goes on about it at some length here:
