I had the same problem with my D600. I noticed some spots at absurdly high f stops above the difraction limitations.

I was about to take it back when I realised it wasn't the camera but dust/oil on the windscreen of my car through which I'd taken the pictures.

So I kept the camera and took the car back....

Yes, it's annoying that Nikon QC has (is?) slipping but the D600 is a camera capable of supurb results.

With a little effort you can fix it yourself in a few minutes - unlike mechanical/electronic problems - less time than it takes to whine on a blog.

Learn to live with it and know that the problem will eventually sort itself off with a few cleans.
