Amen to that...

In France, it took years to open the cellphone market to competition and the 4 major companies (some with very strong ties to government high ranking officials) were condemned for illegal agreements to fix prices.

Finally, a new operator was allowed and refused to play ball (Free) : monthly fees for a full fledged use (unlimited call + 3G access) went from over 35€ to 15€ and 2h communication+unlimited texts is 2€ (0€ if you're already using Free for your home Internet services as I do)...

Suddenly, all other operators found out that they could lower their prices too...

There was also a "war" on killing those "two year minimum" contracts : we are now free to change operator at any time in a few minutes while keeping the same phone number.
