Hmm interesting words there.

I've been into shooting video a lot longer than shooting photos (12 years vs about 2 years), and for the first 10 years of that on the video side, I was using a Canon GL1 and a Canon XL1s, both of which had Flourite in their lenses.

Those cameras traveled with me all over the South and even to Hawaii. Never had a single problem with them in 10 years. Great cameras. Great lenses. Great performers. I only got rid of them so I could move to HD in 2011.

Anyways, if flourite is what it takes for Nikon to get great optical quality out of a lens, or series of lenses, I'm all for it!
