That is not true per se. Using the anti-shock /aka shutter release delay function, a time lapse function can be achieved even per Olympus. The only limitation is that you need to keep the shutter button depressed, be that by hand or by a suitable tool/clamp, but the OM-D can shoot as long as battery or memory card last.

Exactly! I was about to add that one but thought three were enough.  And the suitable tool you need would be something like a remote control with a lockable button (most of them have one).
