Until now I was happy with my ultra-cheap Sigma lenses I'm wondering if the new versions will be noticeably better. I have no problem with the older ones, so far.

This is going to be even more frustrating for those within the return period of the older lenses...return them without knowing the prices or revision details of the new models? Tough one; it's too late for me to return mine, but I'd probably elect to keep them anyway, especially since the new ones are still 2.8.

I can relate here! I am still within the return period, but I don't think I will return them. It is still a good deal - and the newer version will not change the quality of the images these lenses are capable of producing.
