I am just amazed at the amount of discussion over this lens.

It's the cheapest Sony E lens and the first one published as well,

The 16mm was not available when I bought my Nex-5.  But it was available soon after.

meaning this is before mirrorless was truly in the lime light where it is today. Sony designed this lens accordingly.

With the lens you get:
- smallest, lightest E lens
- slient AF
- faster than most E lenses
- reasonable IQ
- 2 optional adapters
- very decent Macro lens with 49mm reverse mount adapter ($15)

At $200 and 3 years old, this is not below typical expectations (which many claim), but above. at least MHO.

It's been $250 for most of this time.  Still not unreasonable for a "wide angle", and once you get to the adapters, it seems like a fantastic design.
