Re: 85L II vs 135L vs 70-200L II

I've got all 3. Used to use them with a 5D mkII and lately with a 1D X

I do think that I am a lil' bit more succesful in nailing focus with fast primes using the 1D X compared to what I was used to with the 5D mkII. So I would assume that the 5D mkIII would yield a similar improvement.

The 70-200 was spot on with the 5D mkII so no much improvement there.

I use the 70-200 when doing wildlife for reach and AF speed & precision. I use the primes in studio.

Of the 3, the 135 sees the least use but only because of circumstances. It is an excellent lens and it has never let me down. The 85 has by far the slowest focus and it is the trickiest to use when wide open. In terms of bokeh the 2 primes are better than the zoom.

I like all 3 and I am not going to get rid of them unless some new versions come along

It's a tough decision: all 3 are excellent performers
