Is an E-mount OSS lens necessary for HHT/AMB?
Does anyone know if an E-mount lens with OSS is needed for the NEX shooting modes that merge several shots in-camera, such as Anti Motion Blur? I shoot vintage lenses in these modes but wonder if the camera is really "doing anything" or if a lens with OSS is needed for best results?-- hide signature --
Take a picture, it'll last longer.
The OSS advantage will be in that for HHT, the camera will go 2-3 stops below the guideline shutter speed (1/focal length*crop factor) before selecting next higher ISO. With non-OS lens, the shutter speed may be determined to be faster and camera's choice for higher ISO may rise faster.
In case of AMB, I think the difference would be non-existent since the camera prioritizes faster shutter speed.
HHT (and AMB) will work with OS and non-OS lenses.
