Re: 70-400G or 70-300G?

I only have the 70-300G and it is a great lens, and can be used handheld with no problems in day light, however because it is designed to be light there seems to be a less good build quality to it, indeed in my copy and and in another copy that I came across there was an auto focus issue in which the lens would just continually hunt, to fix that you need to send the lens to Sony.
In a place where there is a lot of sand and water I would think that getting the better build in the 70-200G or 70-400G would be the better option.
