Thinking about improved AF performance, top LCD, and being able to put a grip on it (K-30 not as usable in portrait mode, although not awful!)

There are many reports that K5ii has a faster and more accurate AF.

Also I've found the K-30 inconsistent compared to the K-01 with my Metz 58AF1 / Pentax AF360FGZ. I know there are some bounce over exposure problems, but wondering if the K5ii might also be better here.

No, the bouncing flash still gives a crappy exposure with the K5ii as long as you are not using it in fully manual M mode:

However, you may consider upgrading your flash to the one which supports A-mode (it is a mode, when the flash performs its own exposure measurements) to get consistent results. This should also work with K30.
