55-200VR on D600
This morning I thought I'd throw my cheap 55-200 lens onto my D600 to see how the images would turn out in DX crop mode. To my suprise it works in FX mode with just a bit of vignetting from about 60-100mm.
Since moving to FX I was thinking of selling some of my DX lenses, especially this one. Now I think I'll keep it for a light weight general walkaround/hiking tele-zoom.
Other DX lenses I own that seem to work pretty well on my D600 is the Tokina 12-24, and the 35 1.8.
Before unloading your DX stock, you may want to check and see if they may be usable on your D600. The D800 has a couple other crop modes that make your DX lenses even more usable in FX mode.
