A Lot.

I am anxiously waiting for hybrid AF (i.e. on-sensor PD/CD AF) to be able to replace separate sensor Phase Detect so we can finally be able to go into live-view and be confident that we will get fast af along with the already very accurate af of PD/CD AF. It is clear that manufacturers are going that way (mirrorless u43rds with CD-though PD/CD may be available on the Olympus E-7, Sony has started PD/CD on-sensor in the NEX 6R and Canon has started it with EOS-M and the T4i).

So, the question is, how much faster does on-sensor PD/CD have to get to equal separate sensor PD?

?  Not sure what kind of answer you're looking for?  To take the place of trad. PD AF, then the hybrid AF has to be just as fast.  And even that won't satisfy some who think trad. PD AF is too slow.
